Rate this a 9 for acting and 4 for story. I knew that 3 of the actors were up for Academy Awards so thought I'd like to see what it was all about. It's VERY depressing true story that would have benefited from a little more information about WHY Iris was famous, not just vague references to her mind and looking at life a different way. The flashbacks with Kate Winslet as Iris in the early days was the most enjoyable and her relationship with eventual husband gives background about their later relationship as she suffers from Alzheimers. This isn't telling anything that isn't in the ads about it. See it if you want to be 'up' on good performances, but skip it for the story unless you want to get depressed.
