Not too many tempura places left. Hifumi's is the best. Their Chicken Teriyaki & Tonkatsu tops the must try list. This formica over-kill of a restaurant is prim and proper but is sparse in decor and ambience. It's also quiet. Mostly what you hear is the shuffling of the waitresses. Lots of seniors go here, too. They also tend to eat very quietly. Many read the evening papers and forget about their spouses on the other side of the table. The shrimp tempura is great. Wish their tea was a bit stronger, so if you want your tea strong make sure to mention to please add more tea. This is definitely a family style restaurant since there is a small corner set-up just for kids w/ video & mostly smaller kids toys.
